Boise opened its 98th park this week dedicated in the name of Terry Day. The 7-acre park is located at 1225 S. Federal Way in Boise (Federal Way and Kootenai). The $575,000 project currently has picnic tables, a walking path and a fishing pond, with plans to add tennis courts, restrooms and a playground in the next two years. As I wrote in a previous blog post, a tennis racquet shaped flower garden and trellis will also be built using a 2012 Neighborhood Reinvestment Grant awarded to the Depot Bench Neighborhood Association.
The land was donated to the City of Boise in 2006 by Patrick Day in honor of his wife, Terry Day, who loved tennis, conservation and was a master gardener.
